Being a Donor not a Member:

You can choose whether you would like to be considered a member of the Land Trust or a donor. Donors are sent the regular mailings from the Land Trust such as our Annual Report, our Fall Newsletter and invitations to Open Houses and other events. Donors are also solicited once a year for a renewal donation one year from the date they first donated and are listed in the Annual Report as Donors rather than members. Donors do not receive membership cards & benefits for donations of $100 or more.

Anonymous Members & Donors:

Members and donors who wish to remain anonymous and not have their names listed in the Land Trust’s Annual Report can request to be listed as anonymous members or donors.

IRA Giving

Due to new laws, individuals can give a portion of their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA's) tax-free to non-profits such as the Land Trust. The legislation was encated for 2008 and extended through 2009. Individuals age 70 1/2 and older can transfer up to $100,000 of IRA assets to public charities without triggering federal income taxes today or estate taxes in the future. Check with your tax advisor today to see how you can take advantage of the new laws.
